Restoration

The images you'll see are the result of my studies in photo restoration.
As Katrin Eismann, author of the book "Photoshop , Restoration & Retouching" wrote to me once, about photo restoration: "It is a labour of love". I agree with her. For me it's a very special feeling to see the past "come back" in a restored picture.
As I was trying to figure out a creative and effective way to show the before/after states of the restoration I came up with an interesting idea. My friend Rodrigo Maia, a brilliant interface specialist and flash programmer put it together for me. Check it out by clicking on the thumbnails and passing the mouse over the images. (you might need shockwave player)

This is an image a friend asked me to restore. She is the wife
of the young boy on the left, now an old gentleman.
This work is still in progress .

The image below presented a diferent chalenge. It came from a small viewer, very popular in Brazil during the 60's. A workmate handed me the viewer and asked me if I could rescue a picture of him, a diapositive locked inside. Click on the thumbnails to see the result.
